We study the electrophysiological basis for sensory processing in social communication contexts. In particular, we are interested in how the auditory cortex becomes attuned to the features of behaviorally relevant, species-specific vocalizations, and how social interactions engage neural mechanisms that may drive neural plasticity in the representation of these sounds.
